26/11/2010 News and pictures from Club dinner...
The Club's annual dinner was held on Friday 19th November and was
the usual sociable occasion, allowing the Club to honour its
oustanding achievers of the season past.
We now have the photographs from the night available (our thanks
go to Ivan Walker for those), as well as a full list of prize-winners
from the night.

25/11/2010 Club draws holders Merrion in Senior Cup...
The draw for the 2011 Bob Kerr Irish Senior Cup was made on
Monday 22nd November at the Cricket Ireland Cricket Committee
meeting in Dundalk.
The dates for the rounds of the competition will be released
in due course.

24/11/2010 Taiaroa's ton of talent surfaces...
Mikey has been in brilliant form with 3 consecutive hundreds in
the space of a week. He scored a ton for his club Cornwall CC on
Saturday 6th and followed it up with another for his Province of
Hawkes Bay the following day:
"Taiaroa's ton of talent surfaces", featured in Hawke's Bay Today.
He subsequently notched up a third century on the following
Saturday 13th November for his club, Cornwall.
Mikey is duee back in Carrick on 6 December when he is returning
to spend Christmas and the New Year with girlfriend Nikki.
Meanwhile Ross has also been doing well in South Africa picking
up 6 for 13 for his club Uitenhage a couple of weeks ago.
Let's hope they both carry on like this when they return to
Carrickfergus next season!

27/10/2010 NCU AGM sees move to 8 team leagues...
The NCU AGM, held at Newforge on 22nd of October was an absorbing affair,
according to Gordon Scott of CricketEurope Ireland.
The headline, inevitably, the passing of a motion to establish 8 team leagues
after successive defeats at two previous AGMs.
Additionally, the culmination of much work by Andy Clement and colleagues on
the Junior Cricket Task Force was rewarded with their recommendations for
ground-breaking changes in the Junior form of the game were approved
unopposed.

13/09/2010 Coaching Award for Carickfergus' Eagleson...
Our own Ryan Eagleson's services to the grassroots of local cricket was
recognised at the recent Oval Test betwen England and Pakistan when he
was presented with a coaching certificate by former Englad Test Captain,
Mike Atherton.

02/07/2010 Jordan named in Ireland U-17 squad...
Congratulations also go to Jordan McClurkin, who has been named
in Ireland's U-17 squad for the European Championships next month.
The team will be coached through the Championships by Carrickfergus'
very own Ryan Eagleson.

21/06/2010 Carrickfergus players feature in NCU U-13 squad...
Congratulations to two young Carrickfergus cricketers, Andrew Forbes and
Ben Kane, who have been selected for the NCU Under 13 squad for the
Inter-Provincial series.

21/06/2010 Woodburn win Kwik Cricket tournament...
Carrickfergus Cricket Club held its annual Kwik Cricket tournament for
local primary schools at Middle Road last Monday, with over 80 children
taking part. Woodburn PS were the eventual winners, defeating
Greenisland PS by just 3 runs in a closely contested final. Both sides
contained a number of players from the Cricket Club's Under 11 team.
The Cub is grateful to Subway for their continued sponsorship of the
event, and proprietor of the local franchise, Mr David Montgomery was
on hand with mascot "Subman" to present the trophy to winning captain
Kyle Hutton. The tournament was well organised by Carrick coach Ross
Gelderbloem who along with Cricket Ireland Talent Identification
Officer Ryan Eagleson and other club coaches, kept an eye on preceedings.
The local club wishes Woodburn PS good luck in the Northern Ireland
Regional Finals held at Stormont this week.

13/06/2010 Carrickfergus players feature in U-14 squad...
Three young Carrickfergus Cricket Club players have been named in the Belfast
squad for this year’s Ford Lord's Taverners Inner Cities Under 14 Cricket Cup.
Pace bowling all rounder Gavin Richards, left arm spinner Ben Kane , and
medium pace bowler Adam Boyce have been named in the 13 man squad for this
year's tournament. Belfast have previously won the tournament on three
occasions, the most recent being in 2005. They will again this year play two
qualifying round matches against Birmingham and Liverpool to earn a place in
the national finals. Belfast play host to Birmingham on Thursday 24 June at
Carrickfergus CC, and travel Liverpool on Tuesday 29 June where thay will
play at Liverpool CC's Aigburth ground. The group winners qualify to join
seven other UK cities in the tournament proper, which as usual takes place
at Arundel in West Sussex, from 10-13 August. The side will be captained by
Holywood's Mark Adair, who was also a member of last year's squad.

19/03/2010 Alex and Jordan named in NCU U-17 squad...
Carrickfergus Cricket Club's 2010 season gets underway at the weekend when the
1st XI travels south for two pre-season friendlies. On Saturday 17th they face
Leinster CC at Rathmines in Dublin, while on Sunday 18th they move to north
County Dublin to play Rush CC. Their first league match will be on the following
Saturday 24th when they travel to Waringstown for a tough opening fixture.

19/03/2010 Alex and Jordan named in NCU U-17 squad...
Congratulations also go to young Carrickfergus cricketers, Alex
Haggan and Jordan McClurkin, who have both been named in a strong
17 man panel for the NCU, who will take part in trials ahead of this
season's inter-provincial championship.

19/03/2010 Ryan honoured with prestigious coaching award...
Our warmest congratulations go to Club Captain, Ryan Eagleson, who
was recently honoured in the European Sky Sports Coach Awards 2010
where he was the recipient of the Outstanding Contribution and
Services to Cricket Coaching Award.
The award was received for his work as Talent Identification Officer
for the ICU and principally for his work with the Under 17 and
Under 19 squads as well as his lead on the regional development
programme for Under 11 to Under 15 age groups.
ICC Regional Development Manager Europe, Richard Holdsworth,
delivered a warm tribute to Ryan's efforts and commitment. A
