Scored a then club record 4,734 1st XI runs mainly as an opener, including two hundreds. A regular member of the 1st XI for 15 years, he decided to step down from the firsts after the 2000 season. Continued to score heavily for the 2nd XI , for whom he scored nearly 3,000 runs.
Player of the Year 1985 & 1989.
Won the 1st XI Batting Cup on five occasions and the 2nd XI Batting Cup four times.
Retired at the end of the 2006 season.
