Award Winners at Club Dinner

Special Recognition
The Club is always keen to acknowledge those who have made an outstanding contribution as players by commemorating their 25th anniversary as a playing member.

Reaching the milestone this year was Nigel McFarland, who commenced his Carrickfergus C.C. playing career as a schoolboy in 1979. He soon made his way into the First XI where he scored over 5,000 runs and he continues to score heavily in the Second XI, approaching 2,500 runs for them, giving a career-total of over 7,000 runs for the Club.

Club Cricketer of the Year
Club Captain, Ryan Eagleson, once again enjoyed a great season and made his usual significant all-round contribution to the First XI's campaign.

Leading from the front, he topped both bowling and batting averages, taking 30 wickets (average 21.43)and scoring 454 runs (average, 28.38). His highest score was 91 n.o. against Lisburn and best bowling of 4 for 31 against Lurgan.

First XI Bowler of the Year
Nasir Khan was another player who enjoyed a successful season with both bat and ball and his efforts saw him pick up this year's Bowler of the Year Award. Bowling first change, he took 27 wickets at an average of 26.33, with best bowling of 4 for 27 against Lisburn.

First XI Batsman of the Year
The third of our outstanding all-rounders in the First XI, David Menaul, picked up the award for Batsman of the Year. In a welcome return to the Club, he enjoyed an excellent season with both bat and ball. Batting at number 3 for most of the season, he scored a total of 423 runs at an average of 25.41, with a highest score of 114 against Bangor.
