Award Winners at Club Dinner

Vauxhall Tankard Award
The Vauxhall Tankard Award is presented to the individual who contributes the season's most outstanding match-winning performance. This year, the honour went to Vinay Sharma for a truly amazing bowling performance. Against Dunmurry, in the Twenty20 Cup, he ended the match with the most remarkable bowling figures of 7 wickets (including a hat-trick) for 6 runs off 3.2 overs and was a deserving winner of this year's award.


Young Cricketer of the Year
This year's award went to Andrew Cowden who, in his first season with the Club, scored 257 runs for the First XI, improving as the season progressed. In August, he scored his first ever century (110 n.o) for the Second XI against Muckamore. He also contributed six wickets for the First XI. Andrew also picked up representative honours this year with caps for both Ulster Schools and Irish Schools.

Second XI Batsman of the Year
A consistent run-scorer over a number of seasons, John Kane has been in the shake-up for the Seccond XI Batsman of the Year for the last few years. This year, saw him become the deserved winner for the first time. Opening the batting for the Second XI, John clocked up 410 runs at an average of 29.29 witt four half-centuries and a highest score of 66.

Second XI Bowler of the Year
This award went to David Robinson, a young man who has previously been honoured as our Under-13 and Under-15 Bowler of the Year. An excellent season for the Second XI saw David get a deserved First XI debut this year. He was leading wicket-taker for the Second XI with 27 wickets at an excellent average of 16.07, with best bowling of 5 for 7 against Derriaghy.
